Process

Enrolments at Mildura Senior College

If you are interested in enrolling at our school, please request an Enrolment Form from our school office at mildura.senior.co@education.vic.gov.au or call (03) 5021 2911.

Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.

Students who live within the school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. To find out whether you live in zone, visit findmyschool.vic.gov.au

All other applications will be considered subject to available space, and prioritised according to:

1.       students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time

2.       all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

An enrolment form will be provided when placement is offered.

Required documents

Required documentation includes:

·         Completed enrolment form (available to collect from MSC)

·         Evidence of identity and date of birth (for example, a birth certificate or passport)

You will also be required to provide information about:

·         your contact details

·         emergency contact details

·         health information about your child (such as allergies or illnesses they need to manage)

·         other legal orders relating to your child and their welfare (if any)

 

 

School zones

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

Students residing in our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

Under the Department of Education and Training’s Parent Payments Policy, Victorian government schools are required to provide transparent information to their school community on voluntary parent/carer contributions.

Enrolment Event Information

As part of our Transition and Enrolment process to Mildura Senior College, the college holds Enrolment evenings prior to the year of commencement.

Information that is provided at these sessions includes, Subject Counselling and Confirmation, Booklists and Fees, Second Hand book information, Bus pass and CSEF, ICT Information, Uniform and Wellbeing support.

It is important that a Parent / Guardian accompanies the student to the enrolment evening.

Date Day/s Description
November 13th - 15th Monday - Wednesday Flying Start:
Flying Start Days: selected sessions- selected Year 10 students undertaking a Year 12 subject in 2024 attend the Senior College Flying Start sessions. Timetables will be emailed the week prior to Flying Start.
November 20th - 22nd Monday - Wednesday Enrolment Program:
Monday November 20th 3:30pm-6:00pm: Students from Chaffey and Merbein Colleges
Tuesday November 21st 3:30pm-6:00pm: Students from Trinity, Henderson and Irymple Colleges.
Wednesday November 22nd 3:30pm-6:00pm: Non-Partner Schools
December 5th - 7th Tuesday - Thursday Orientation:
Orientation Days: Year 10 students undertaking Year 11 Subjects in 2024; classes from 9:00am to 3:05pm for all year 10 students
December 7th Thursday Subject Changes:
Subject Changes occur after Orientation Day

Partnership School

If you are currently a student from one of our partner schools: Chaffey Secondary College, Irymple Secondary College, Merbein Secondary College, Trinity Lutheran College, Henderson College or Mildura Christian College, you are not required to contact the college. Further information will be provided to your students at their current school.

Non-Partnership Schools​

All families from non-partnership schools are invited to contact Mildura Senior College on (03) 50212911 to book a subject selection support session and collect an enrolment pack.

 

Our MELC Campus is not a designated neighbourhood school and require a different criteria for enrolment.
