Subject Overview

Environmental Science creates an exciting sense and a deep understanding of current issues. Environmental Science helps you acquire the key skills and knowledge required to pursue further into fields relating to environmental scientific studies.

Unit 1 & 2

In Unit 1 & 2 you will:

  • Look at basic elements that create an ecosystem
  • Understand the importance to all ecosystem factors – both abiotic and biotic
  • Look at how all Earth’s systems interact to create a balanced ecosystem
  • Compare the differences in ecosystem management
  • Explore how science improves agricultural and environmental biodiversity

Unit 3 & 4

In Unit 3 & 4 you will:

  • Understand the concepts involved in maintaining biodiversity
  • Look at management strategies of an endemic species
  • Understand the principals involved in restoration of an ecosystem
  • Compare renewable and non-renewable energy
  • Understand the importance of anthropogenic influences with climate change
