Deakin Trade Training Centre
Year 10 Program
The Deakin Trade Training Centre is one of two main TTC hubs in Mildura.
Deakin TTC provides students with “State of the Art” facilities and equipment. The VET courses will provide you skills in both traditional trades and emerging industries.
A VET course can be a subject chosen as part of a Year 10, 11 or 12 VCE or VCAL program. They are usually completed over two years.
Vocational Education and Training delivered to Secondary Students
If you want to gain industry skills and knowledge, then make sure a VET (Vocational Education and Training) subject is part of your program in Year 10. The Deakin TTC VET Course will give you credit towards your VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) or VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning) program in Year 11.
Studying a VET subject will help you to develop a range of employability and practical skills and give you exposure to industry and local employers.
Whether you are looking for employment or an apprenticeship straight after school, wanting to continue training at University or TAFE or seeking to develop skills for personal reasons then a VET subject could be the right subject for you.
What is VET?
The Deakin TTC VET subjects are great, entry level Certificate II courses, and are delivered over two years.
Some VET subjects are delivered directly by the training organisation (RTO), whe0reas other VET subjects the training and assessing is delivered by qualified teaching staff and the RTO issues the Certificates and Statements of Attainment only.
Why study VET?
The Deakin TTC VET courses are a great way to prepare you for work either through apprenticeships, traineeships or direct employment.
VET Subjects are also a great pathway that can lead you on to further training at TAFE or University.
